The Cross as a Journey
As we approach the time of Easter, we may want to set aside some time to reflect on the journey that Jesus took before his death on the cross. Many Christians throughout the ages have found encouragement, strength and joy from reflecting on those last hours of Jesus’ life on earth.
The different events taking place on the journey to Golgotha, where Jesus was crucified, were called “The Stations Of The Cross” by early Christians. Throughout history, believers have used them in a variety of ways to enrich their Christian life. There are 8 reflections/devotionals in total. I suggest you take one devotional at the time and spread all of them out over the remaining Lent period. May you be blessed as you “grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ” Ephesians 3:18 There is a more in-depth explanation of the meaning and history of “The Stations of the Cross” at the end the 8 reflections. |
